Commissioner John Gregorio Gil

Room Nau. Tossa de Mar

Exposure Time fled, curated by art critic John Gil, is planned as a trip to the representation of time and the impact on the art world, an exhibition of contemporary artists confronting styles of different generations, languages, perceptions and emotions in order to show visitors all aspects of temporality. The exhibition proposes a discourse about different ways of understanding time through a selection of works that revolve around the idea as human as irreversible as the expiration.

The structure of the sample due to a chronological concept, not the trends or styles. With this approach we wanted to plan a trip in time through different generations of artists to see how each reflected towards the concept time and also how they relate. From the surrealism of Dali in the triumph of dreams and wishes bend control this time, through the artists that break Vanguards academic art to express their most emphatic existentialism, along with the artists concerned born in the fifties and sixties that are proposed cutting introspective and life to new generations the years 70 looking for new expressions in a way to explain the finiteness in an era marked by changing values. This is how the 50 artists represented weave his particular vision of temporality, through various disciplines such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video and installation.
